Starting as an educational film distributor, Kanopy launched its streaming service in 2010. Being one of the most well-established library streaming services, Kanopy boasts an extensive library of new release, classic, and documentary films and television programming. Available content may vary based on library membership, with some material available to certain libraries based upon their agreement with Kanopy. Libraries issue members with a set amount of credits per month which can be used in exchange for ‘borrowing’ the films. The ‘Kanopy Kids’ section allows for unlimited viewing.
