In a world apparently devoid of humans, a cat’s idyllic life is thrown into turmoil by the sudden and inexplicable rise of the levels of surrounding water. As the water continues to rise, the cat finds itself seeking refuge in a boat with other animals – a capybara, Labrador Retriever dog, a crane and a lemur.
Written and produced by Latvian filmmakers Gints Zilbalodis and Matīss Kaža almost entirely on their own, Flow is based on Zilbalodis’s earlier short film Aqua, and was expanded to a feature length, 3D animated movie over the course of close to six years. Free from dialogue, the film went on to easily find international success, winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
