This kind of series hasn’t been on TV in a long time. Not since Tales From The Crypt ended have we had a horror series to deliver bite-sized thrills, so it was exciting to see something like Found Footage available. The anthology series features a different story and style with each episode, linked only by the ‘found footage’ format: episodes are presented mockumentary style, with some spliced together from apparent home video footage, video calls, and even a broadcast signal intrusion.
The episodes are undoubtedly low budget, but the themes allow for engaging stories to be told, and raise the question of where the next episode may go. The acting is probably not going to win any awards, but the cast and crew create original and mysterious ideas. Hopefully a second season won’t be too far off!
