The gradually-unfolding, coming-of-age drama of Lea, a young woman trying to find her own path in life, as her parents turn to a cult in the wake of a perceived failure of medical science. Told through a series of out of order vignettes, we are drip-fed fragments of the lives of Lea and her family, cut with long shots of Jupiter itself and the comet Calypso.
As Lea tries to coordinate her life – fitting in at school, finding herself socially – she tries to balance the love she clearly has for her family against her own wishes, as her parents’ increasing desperation to find a cure for her brother’s ailment leads them to a cult, who believe the Earth to be doomed. The only salvation is to travel to the planet Jupiter on the tail of the comet as it passes.
