‘Skyquakes’ are the name given to a phenomenon reported around the world of loud, horn-like sounds reported to be booming towards the earth from the sky above. Although reports of the mysterious sounds have been recorded for hundreds of years, renewed speculation around the origin of the sounds started to flourish in the comments section of video recordings of the empty sky apparently producing deep, metallic echoes abundant on YouTube.
Having just secured her first journalism job at a college in Hungary, Cassie (Laura Ellen Wilson) recruits her best friend Margot (Laura Saxon) to accompany her on a trip to document reports of sounds coming from the sky outside the city. Cassie hopes to find truth in the wild claims linking the phenomenon with the disappearances of people being made by conspiracy theory blogger Scott (Robert LaSardo.)
A faux-documentary, Project Skyquake is a slow-burning film, more focused on spinning a creepy mystery than scares, and will reward the patient.
