Although it doesn’t have as wide of a collection of movies as Beamafilm, or is it as linked with as many libraries as Kanopy, Hoopla has a growing collection of recent and classic television series. Hoopla has an app available for most models of Smart TV, although it can be a little difficult to browse – the obvious browse by genre available via the Hoopla website are either missing or well-hidden when viewing on a TV, but the search function works well. Libraries typically offer credits to allow for between eight and twelve films per month. Outside of film and television, it also offers e-books and music streaming.
Although you can find plenty of movies to watch on Hoopla, you may need to wade through a deluge of mockbusters before finding those destined to become classics.
