Unlike other services available in Australia which are either funded by advertising or via library registration, Recall TV is both free, and free of advertising. Run as a promotional tool of local distributor Flashback Films and its various offshoot labels, the service was originally launched as Viewlorium, and seemed to pride itself on its catalogue of ‘weird’ media. It seemed to rebrand itself overnight at Recall TV, and maintained its quirky collection – now proudly boasting a genre menu specifically headed ‘Weird.’ Along with that heading, it also includes family-friendly films, Bollywood, Chinese cinema, and a healthy assortment of mockbusters. Curiously, the service also includes a ‘Meditation’ section, with an array of screensaver-style footage perfect for picture frame TV background ambiance.

Along with its website, Recall TV is available via Android and Apple app. Registration is not required, but allows users to save a playlist to view later and to comment and review movies.
