When Shudder launched in Australia in 2020, it became Australia’s first dedicated horror-themed streaming service. Now, since Halloween in 2024, we have had another horror-centric service, and one that caters to an even more specific niche: found footage. Found features a growing catalogue of mainly horror documentary-style film and television, but also subgenres like science fiction and crime.

Available worldwide, Found has support for almost every kind of television and device, though as a service still in its infancy, isn’t flawless. Ads seem to be placed randomly rather than being scheduled for natural beats in the films, and the interface sometimes causes long loading times. But, as Bill Gates once said, ‘content is king,’ and Found has a fascinating library, and the inclusion of a TV Series section promises quick scares to come in the future.

Registration is not required, but allows users to save playlists for later. A paid subscription exists to remove ads, and some movies are initially available only for a rental fee for a short time, but the majority of the content is available to stream for free with ads.
